There were many kinds of meat, but it was unfortunate that there was no pork due to the nature of the Middle East. Usually, I felt a little salty because of the spices, but as a person who likes salty food, it was not bad. The cuisine came out on a large plate in a beautiful variety and caught the eyes before eating, and the juicy meat of the well-cooked food remained moist. As I ate the food, it tasted similar to lamb dishes with a lot of spices I had before. At first, I felt uncomfortable with the unique flavor of spices, but after trying some foreign foods, I wondered what kind of spices would make what kind of flavor. I liked the fact that I can enjoy many unique Middle Eastern foods with a single bowl.
Through this dish, I learned that spicy food is not just about making a strong and burdensome taste, and I ate happily more than I expected. My friends said that the restaurant that I went is making the food a little differently from the real food in the Middle East because of its popularity. If I have a chance, I want to try ‘real’ Middle Eastern food. Later, I want to study various spices around the world as well as basic spices such as salt and pepper and use them to suit my cooking.
